Nesta Challenges, in partnership with the Government of Canada, is researching new innovative solutions to help stop plastic pollution in sub-Saharan Africa. We are launching the Afri-Plastiques CAN $ 14.5 million challenge.
The Afri-Plastics Challenge appeals to entrepreneurs offering scalable and sustainable solutions to prevent plastic waste from entering the marine environment in sub-Saharan Africa. The challenge will involve three strands of activity, with the first being launched today.
The local innovation dynamic in Africa has attracted several global companies and technology hubs to the continent. There is also a significant increase in African entrepreneurs developing effective and contextual solutions to their environment. We are looking for founders, innovators and entrepreneurs with exciting concepts to mitigate the negative impacts of marine pollution on the environment.
